January 29 – March 16, 2025
West Palm Beach, FL – Designer Robert Stilin and gallerist Sarah Gavlak are pleased to announce the launch of Living with Art and Design: A Collaborative Presentation by Robert Stilin and Sarah Gavlak. This unique selling exhibition, rooted in the longtime friendship between Stilin and Gavlak, celebrates the concept of "living with art" by seamlessly blending high-end design with contemporary artworks.
Living with Art and Design will be on view starting January 29th, 2025, with an opening reception from 1 PM to 6 PM. The exhibition will run through Sunday, March 16th, 2025, inviting art and design enthusiasts to immerse themselves in this curated experience where beautiful objects abound. The exhibition will take place at the historic Norton House, the former residence of sculptor Ann Weaver Norton (1905 -1982).
The collaboration showcases GAVLAK’s cutting-edge roster of contemporary artists alongside Stilin’s celebrated portfolio of exquisite, art-filled homes, making this partnership a natural fit. Stilin will transform the historic home of Ann Norton into an engaging, lived-in space that reflects the artistic vision he implements for his discerning clients, many of whom are prominent collectors.
Drawing upon decades of experience in the design industry, Stilin has curated an impressive selection of furnishings, lighting, and décor sourced from his favorite New York galleries, including:
Bernd Goeckler, Demisch Danant, Donzella, Friedman Benda, Hostler Burrows, Kasmin Gallery, Magen H, Maison Gerard, R & Company, Salon 94 Design, Woven, and Vagujhelyi
Stilin’s handpicked collection features an international array of artists and designers, including The Campana Brothers, Max Lamb, Katie Stout, Misha Kahn, Ashley Hicks, Mattia Bonetti, Taher Asad-Bakhtiari, and Diego Villarreal Vagujhelyi, alongside renowned figures like Mathieu Matégot and Maria Pergay. This contemporary art installation from esteemed artists represented by GAVLAK will harmoniously coexist within Stilin’s meticulously designed environment, highlighting the intrinsic relationship between art and design.
“Sarah and I have been friends and colleagues for nearly 25 years. We share a love and passion for art, design, and all things cultural, we also enjoy each other so much and like to have a good time. We thought it would be a great idea to take the fun we have together, and fuse it with our work and personal passions. I got my start in Palm Beach over thirty years ago. I thought it would be fun and interesting to come back to Palm Beach, where I’m also doing several projects, and put together a show of Art and Design that reflects my point of view on living well in Palm Beach. I selected a group of furniture and objects from my own gallery and my favorite New York design galleries to put together this show. There are works by Maria Pergay, Misha Kahn, Max Lamb, Campana Brothers, among others, as well as antique and vintage pieces. I created an environment that reflects my way of living with art - a way to live amongst well-considered, creative pieces.” Robert Stilin
Sarah Gavlak, founder of GAVLAK, shares: "Contemporary art and design go hand in hand—they bring spaces to life and make them truly unforgettable. Robert [Stilin] has an incredible gift for creating homes where art feels like it belongs, not just displayed but lived with and loved. His vision aligns so beautifully with what we do at GAVLAK, and I couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with him on this project. It’s such a joy to work together and share our passion for blending art and design in a way that feels personal and inspiring."
